♥ Science Channel’s new show, “Dark Matters: Twisted But True” features fact-based stories that rival any “Twilight Zone” plot. The show premieres August 31st, 10 PM Eastern and is hosted by John Noble (best known as Dr. Walter Bishop on cult favorite “Fringe”).
♥ What is it about this knitting octopus? Is it the top hat? Is it his wide anime-style blue eyes? Whatever it is, he’s adorable and nonsensical, all at the same time.
♥ It’s official – Japan has everything, including cat cafés where childless and petless people can enjoy the company of feline friends!

♥ I can spend hours on the Mental Floss magazine website.
♥ Speaking of Mental Floss, have you checked out their store? (I’m pretty sure I need this English Major shirt.)
♥ Irish rockabilly queen Imelda May (and my new heroine) does a brilliant rendition of “Tainted Love” (originally recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964, and made popular by 80s New Wave band Soft Cell):
